Introducing Monopoly
Monopoly is a classic board game where players aim to develop a property monopoly by strategically acquiring, trading, and improving real estate across the game board. Here's how to play and some tips for becoming a master of the game.
How to Win Monopoly
Objective
The main goal in Monopoly is to gain a monopoly on the streets and real estate properties available on the game board. This means owning all the properties in a color group, which allows you to charge other players rent when they land on your properties. Ultimately, the aim is to bankrupt your opponents.
Gameplay
Movement: Players move their game pieces clockwise around the board based on the number rolled on the dice. The sum of the two dice determines how many spaces to advance.
Property Purchase: If a player lands on an unowned property, they have the option to buy it from the bank. Ownership of a property is indicated by placing the player's token on it.
Auctioning: Alternatively, if a player chooses not to purchase a property they land on, the property goes up for auction, where any player can bid to acquire it.
Paying Rent: If a player lands on a property already owned by another player, they must pay rent to the owner. The rent amount varies depending on the property's development (houses or hotels) and its location on the board.
Special Squares: The Monopoly board contains other specific squares with unique rules. For instance, some squares can be purchased, while others may trigger events when landed on. The "Go to Jail" square sends a player to jail, where they must roll a double to get out or pay a fine.
