Redactle

If you've ever used Wordle, you know it's a great tool for sparking your imagination. You play an editor for a publication that publishes word puzzles and hidden meanings throughout the game. You read a document and find words that were buried in it. However, Redactle is available if you like a challenge or perhaps just want to spend more time contemplating hidden meanings than playing Wordle.

In order to get ahead in Redactle, which is simply a word game, you must decipher the other players' top-secret redaction code. You must guess the letters to do this, then put them together with other players' provided word fragments and blank spaces to form words. For a thorough description of the game, or if that still sounds confusing, continue reading or watch the video above.

It takes about 30 minutes to complete this quickly party game for 3 to 6 players. Each player receives numerous cards with letter combinations (such "V + ER") and a card with a secret suppression code (a hidden phrase). There are two teams—red and blue. On your turn, you can ask a player to give you one of their letter cards or give them one of yours. Then you expose your redaction code and check to see if your answer and their response share a word. If so, you mark it with an X; if not, you keep speculating until you either find it or run out of options. The winning team is the one that cracks all of their rivals' codes first!
